Yesterday Mr & I attended the eagerly and long awaited wedding of the new Mr & Mrs Smith.
Mr’s brother and his girlfriend tied the knot at a beautiful hotel, here in Kent. It really was a beautiful day, filled with love and understated beauty. I’ve never met a who are couple so perfectly matched as yesterday’s bride and groom and their special day reflected this so well. It’s the little things, the simplicity and ease of a relationship, to me, that make a healthy and long lasting marriage and they have that by the bucket load!
Mr was an usher, and as the usher’s girlfriend looking the part was essential. After a day of traipsing around the shops with my Mum, trying every dress in every shop in, in true Ami style, I returned to the very first shop and the very first dress I’d tried and bought it!
This elegant white & navy polka dot dress is from Zara. I never normally shop in Zara as the sizing is so out of sync to other shops, and I can never get the right fit, but this dress (though it was a large & I’m generally a size 10!) fit perfectly, hiding & flattering all of the right bits.
The dress cost £25.99 which I thought was very reasonable. I teamed it with a pair of navy satin heels (£7) and a matching bag (50p) which I picked up from a bootfair a few weeks ago. I also wore a silver and white pearl effect bracelet, white pearl effect stud earrings and a silver longline necklace, all from Primark for under £10. The shoes were originally from Monsoon and had never been worn so I got them for a bargain.
I felt really confident and feminine in this outfit and I think this dress is going to become a staple occasion outfit in my wardrobe. Its classic shape and style makes it a true timeless treasure.
