I recently went a bit mad when it came to ordering lip products form the latest Avon catalogue, but I have always been a big fan of their lip products and they were quite heavily reduced so I made the most of the discounts.
I ordered 8 lip products in total, 5 tinted lip balms and 3 ultra colour lipsticks and it came to around £30, so about £3.75 each which is a bargain if you ask me.
I hadn’t tried the tinted lip balms before and so I was a bit intrigued by them. I work in quite a heavily air conditioned office and so my lips can get really dry if I don’t look after them, so these sounded the perfect products to continue wearing lip colour as well as protect them.
There are five shades available – Pearlescent Pink, Pearlescent Red, Reviving Raspberry, Soothing Strawberry & Protecting Peach.
I’ve swatched the three coloured ones below, but the pearlescent balms are quite difficult to swath as they seem to react to the colour of your lips. To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend them as they just give your lips an almost petrol looking texture.
I am quite impressed with them with regards to the way they protect your lips and I have noticed that sicne wearing them to work, my lips don’t dry out, but if you want to maintain the colour, you really need to keep reapplying a lot throughout the day.
The Ultra colour range is split into three categories: Satin, Shimmer & Soft Matte. I ordered one from the Satin collection and two from the Shimmer collection – I am yet to delve into the world of matte lipstick.
I chose these three soft pink/nude colours which really compliment my dark skin tone without being too OTT for every day to day use. I do love red lipstick, but I find I wear it mainly on nights out or when I am trying to make a real statement.
And here they are swatched – L-R : Blush Nude, Toasted Rose & Pink Dream.
They last much longer than the lip balms. I maybe reapply them once or twice throughout the day and that’s all.

Ooh I like a bit of chapstick with colour. Or vice versa in this case. Great colours too.
Interesting, I haven’t tried any Avon lipsticks or balms yet, so good to know I would probably go for the lipsticks and not the balms.
Great post!
I’m a real wuss with lip colour – I feel adventurous if I’m wearing a nude sheer gloss! But I did get braver last week and bought a No7 High Shine Lip Crayon in Delicate Pink and have been impressed. Not drying at all and a lovely sheer tint that gives my lips a bit of colour without making me feel self-conscious. http://m.boots.com/h5/cat_hub?path=%2Fen%2FNo7-High-Shine-Lip-Crayon_1310100%2F&unCountry=uk
