Pick Your Own Wildflowers at Blooming Green

Pick Your Own Wildflowers at Blooming Green

We are very lucky to live in the very Heart of Kent. Our county really does live up to it’s status of the Garden of England, filled with glorious countryside, working farms and fields and fields of beautiful blooms. A couple of weeks ago, my Mum, Florence and I headed out to Blooming Green in search of some wildflowers to decorate Florence’s Christening venue with. I’ve always called her my little wildflower. Bright and beautiful and bold and so they seemed perfect for her special day

We were greeted by Beck, one half of the dynamic duo who founded and tirelessly maintain their wildflower meadow, who explained how everything works and handed us a little silver bucket to fill with as many flowers as we could and a pair of Secateurs.

Now before I go any further, I will admit my knowledge of flower names is rather rubbish so please excuse my sole use of colours!

Off we headed into the sea of colour; opting for the brightest flowers we could find.

Not forgetting sunflowers, my favourite wildflower of all. pick your own wildflowers

When we were finished & had filled not one, but two containers we headed back to the workshop where they were wrapped ready for us to take home. 21362080_10212945906419037_1836782923_o

I just wish I had remembered to pick up my camera battery!

Once home, we were advised to keep them in a cool & dark environment to ensure they would still be at their best for Sunday’s christening. We separated them out & split them between 20 jars & tins to use as table decorations and I was s happy with them! They really brightened up the room. IMG_3218

Blooming Green also offer larger containers for wedding flowers along with courses & workshops. I am hoping to attend their Christmas Wreath workshop in December.

I received one container of wild flowers worth £15 for the purpose of this review. All thoughts are my own.
