Ah it’s that time of year again where I get to to get a bit creative with decorations and gifts. This year we’re hosting Christmas dinner and so I wanted to give our guests a little something as an after dinner treat. On the hunt for inspiration I took to Pinterest and found these and so thought I would adapt them to make some Christmas Hot Chocolate Stirrers.
It was actually easier than I thought it would be.
Melt your chosen chocolate down over a bain marie.
Fill 10 plastic shot glasses to the half way point and stand a wooden lolly stick in the centre of each one.
Place them on a tray in the fridge and leave for two hours to set.
Meanwhile, fill a festive chocolate mould with the remaining chocolate and leave to set.
Once set, you’ll need to remove the Choc Shots from the glasses. Grab a cup of fairly hot water and dunk them into it holding in place for around 10-20 seconds – this should melt the outside layer of chocolate just slightly so that you can gently remove the shot from the cup.
Now, with any extra melted chocolate you have, stick the characters from the moulds to the top of the chocolate shots.
These would make great table place names – just wrap them in cellophane along with some mini marshmallows and a candy cane and attach a name tag to each one.
