I do love a good Christmas Market! Sean and I have been to two already this year and I am seriously working my diary around the upcoming ones local to us. Here’s a list of Christmas Markets in Kent for my local readers and a few reasons why I think everyone should visit at least one this year.
Firstly, if you’re really not feeling the Christmas spirit just yet, a visit to a good Christmas market will sort you right out! With all of the carols being sung, the festive food being sold and all the happy faces around you won’t be able to help your self but feel a little Christmassy.
Buying from the stall holders at a Christmas market is a great way to support independent retailers. I’m a big fan of “shopping small” and I always try to buy from at least three stands when we go. You can pick up some great local produce from cheese and chutneys to alcohol and juices as well as some beautifully hand crafted gifts.
It’s not just about the shopping. There are often opportunities to see performances from local drama / music groups which gives you a chance to discover new, local talent.
There’s a pretty good chance you’ll get to see Santa! It’s not quite Christmas until you’ve caught a glimpse of the big man. There’s usually a Santa’s grotto or something similar so they kids (and big kids) are sure to enjoy themselves.
Here are just a few of the fabulous Christmas Markets going on in and around Kent.
