With under 12 weeks until our due date, it really is time to start thinking about what else we need (want) to buy in time for baby’s arrival and while we are going to hold off buying any more bits until her nursery is finished & I’ve had my baby shower, we have put together a bit of a shopping list for those last few weeks once we’ve saved up a few more pennies. We already have most of the essentials; Shnuggle Moses Basket, bottles & Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep – the list goes on!

While I was at The Baby Show last week, I came across so many fab brands which produce innovative and safe sleep products for little ones. One of those companies was the Gro Company. I mentioned how much I enjoyed their swaddling demonstration in my 28 week update, and since coming home and scouring their website for literally hours, I have decided I need one of everything. The rather lovely team at Gro have sent me one of their awesome Orla Kiely GroSnugs to test out when baby arrives and it’s already been put straight on the Hospital Bag pile ready for the big day but that’s not to say I won’t be looking to buy more bits from their range between now and then.
Firstly, I am going to invest in one or two more GroSnugs. The ‘Make A Wish’ is beautiful and I think I might get just a plain white one too.
For when she is a little bigger & out of that newborn stage, we’ll need some sleeping bags and of course my first port of call will be a GroBag. I watched a video on facebook a few days ago about how lots of baby sleeping bags on the market do not meet safety standards and I know I will be able to rest at ease in the knowledge that whichever GroBag we choose, it will have been made and tested to The Gro Company’s exacting standards.
I’m on the hunt for a decent mattress for baby’s cot. Again, safe sleep is one of our main priorities and so the mattress we choose has to reflect that. I’ve got my eye on a PurFlo breathable mattress.
Back on the subject of swaddling, I had a chat with the Zippy team at The Baby Show and they showed me their giant swaddle blankets. They’re multi purpose too, and can be used as blankets, muslins and more. I think we’ll go for this 2 pack of baby girl bamboo swaddle blankets.

How pretty is this mothercare My Little Garden Play Mat? I’ve given up hope of finding one that will fit her nursery theme and have decided that pink is the way to go! I absolutely love the little bunny character featured and the floral pattern is very ‘me’. It is jam packed with sensory features including a baby safe mirror, a rattle and a squeaker and its raised sides are perfect for tummy time as she grows.
I’m going to fill her toy box with a range of toys & fabric books from Lamaze. They are super colourful and designed around sounds and texture and perfect for early play & development.

One of the products I’ve always known I would have for our little one is a Shnuggle Bath. This innovative design is suitable from 0m – 1y and features a unique Bum Bump which prevents your little one from slipping down under the water and enables you to safely wash and play with your baby with both hands. The shnuggle bath retails at £24.95, which while it’s a bit more expensive than others you might find, is completely worth it. I know Mums who rave about this product and so it’s a must have for baby.
Sticking with Shnuggle, I recently discovered their new Shnuggle Changing Mat which would be perfect for her nursery. It’s designed for the most safe and comfortable changing experience for baby being made from super soft and warm-to-touch foam. It also has high sides, is wipe clean and waterproof… what more could you want from a changing mat?
I’d really love to get a Johnson’s Baby Skincare Essentials Box. I remember my Mum having one of these with Libby when she was a baby and honestly using it every single day. Even after all of the Johnson’s products were finished she would use the box for storing all of the changing essentials in downstairs and later for transporting toys and bits from room to room.
Sponges and such can be quite rough on baby’s delicate skin and so the Cuddledry Super Soft Bamboo washcloths are perfect for gentle bath times and for after bath snuggles and super soft drying, a cuddledry apron towel or two just had to make the list.

Along with the Poddle Pod, the NodPod baby blanket was one of the first baby products ever to be sold in my old online shop, and it has always been my number one recommended baby product to new parents. This clever little blanket comes complete with legs, arm flaps & a hood keeping baby snug and making strapping baby in to a car seat or pushchair super easy without the fuss of trying to deal with excess material of a standard blanket. They’ve just released a beautiful new grey star design which I love!
We hope to use a dummy with our little one and a colleaue at work recently introduced me to these Milton portable dummy sterilisers. A must for any Mama’s changing bag!
Now that we have chosen our pushchair – The Joolz Earth Day 2 – I need to find a changing bag to match of course! I’ve seen so many, but I think I am going to opt for the Storksak Noa in Navy.
One thing everyone says I must get a whole load of is muslins, and because they have so many uses I wasn’t really sure where on the list to put them. This 6 pack of confetti printed muslins from Jo Jo Maman Bebe is so so pretty and actually quite reasonably priced at £12.
I’ve also made a bit of a mammoth wishlist for her wardrobe over on pinterest from some of my favourite baby clothing stores if you’re in the market for baby girls clothes, check it out!
