It hardly seems possible that 2 weeks have passed since my friends and family threw me the Baby Shower of all Baby Showers!
Family and friends, old and new, from near and far all came to celebrate our little girl’s impending arrival and it was so lovely to spend the afternoon with my nearest and dearest.
Two of my bump buddies came along too, Louise with her beautiful new born twin boys & my oldest friend, Jess, who I share a due date with.
It was lovely to have so many little ones to squish too! They certainly stole the show at times and kept us all entertained.
We each were given a bag upon arrival filled with everything we would need for any games and a some little personalised favors to take home as mementos – a candle, a lipbalm and a little packet of sweet pea seeds to plant when baby arrives. Also in the bag was a little something from the Kicks Count shop – a sperm and egg pen, an awareness wristband or a kick counter wrist band.
The venue – Sean’s parents house & garden – was decorated beautifully with lanterns, balloons, roses and bunting in pinks and whites. It was the prettiest setting for a family gathering in the sunshine.
Sean’s mum served the perfect party lunch & My friend had a beautiful cake made by Corrine’s Cake Creations topped with super cute baby elephants, along with 40 delicious cupcakes that she’d made herself.
We played all sorts of games including baby food challenge, baby name race and ‘how big is the bump?’, but I think the highlight of the games was ‘Scoop the Poop!’ – a recreation of this scene in one of my favourite movies, The Back Up Plan.
Baby and I were truly spoiled by all who came. We received so many beautiful gifts for both her and me.
With special thanks to all of those who helped to plan such a special day.
