We’ve been out and about quite a lot since Florence was born. My post partum recovery was over and done with fairly quickly and Florence is so very laid back so we’ve had no reason to stay cooped up at home – besides being up and out and active is good for the soul, especially when the sun is shining!
This weekend just gone we headed out to Milebush Farm to go strawberry picking and it gave us the perfect opportunity to test out the changing bag we’ve been sent by Dolls & Trucks. They’ve actually sent us two bags – one mainly for Mummy (I’ll be sharing a bit more about that one in a future post) and one that’s a bit more Daddy friendly.
The grey rucksack is a stylish & practical changing bag fully equipped to hold everything you need for a day out with your little one.
Internally, the main part of the bag is spacious and contains a total of six different internal pockets – one with a zip fastening, and five different sized open compartments. One of the things that really impressed us about this bag is how widely this main section opens up so you can easily see and access everything you’ve packed.
Externally there are a further two zip pockets, one at the front which has two insulated compartments inside for bottles and one small pocket to the side which is ideal for keeping your phone or money in.
The bag also comes with a matching changing mat, and waterproof nappy / clothes wallet perfect for protecting everything else in the bag from a wet outfit or making it easy to grab everything you need for that bum change quickly without fumbling around.
The rucksack style of the bag is designed with practical parenting in mind and is perfect for when you have your hands full while out and about with baby. It would also be perfect for use when baby wearing and carrying baby on your front, or if you, like us, head out for dog walks as a family & need your hands free. Unlike other rucksacks we have, the straps are padded for extra comfort and don’t dig into your shoulders which think is a brilliant feature.
Not just for Daddies, I’ve also worn this bag for a day of shopping in town. I don’t drive, so when Sean isn’t around we rely on public transport or walking to get about and it has proved ideal for a busy Mama on the go with the added plus of being able to put any shopping in there too!
Retailing at £55 with the option of free shipping, we think it’s well worth the money.
Check out the full range of changing bags available at Dolls & Trucks here and keep your eyes peeled for a ‘What’s in my Changing bag’ post where I’ll be telling you all about the second bag we were sent which will go live in the next couple of weeks.
