Jo Jo Maman Bebe Woodland Cubes Review

Jo Jo Maman Bebe Woodland Cubes Review

If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you’ll know I am a massive fan of themed baby play. It is a fab way to introduce your little one to different toys & experiences and over the last few weeks, our play has been centered around Autumn. We’ve crunched and scrunched fallen leaves, explored Autumn colours with yellow, red and orange sensory baskets and turned our Shnuggle stand into an Autumn garden. Our friends at JoJo Maman Bebe sent us this gorgeous set of soft woodland cubes to add to our play.Woodland Soft Cubes

The set contains four cuddly cubes in the form of four adorable little woodland creatures, a fox, a hedgehog, a badger & a rabbit. They have different cute expressions, and features be it a bobbly nose, floppy ears or zig zag spikes making it easy for little ones to distinguish between them as well as making them perfectly ‘grabbable’ for little hands.

They’re incredibly soft and squishy which makes them perfect for newborn play and a welcome alternative to wooden or plastic blocks which often have quite sharp & pointy corners and edges.

We have played with these blocks in several different ways.

We have stacked them.Autumn Woodland baby toys

I’ve used them as puppets while reading stories.

We’ve juggled them.

Cuddled them.IMG_5173

And even tried to eat them (the joys of teething!)IMG_5174

They are the ideal size to just grab and pop in the changing bag ready to bring out for some on the go play too.

As they are characters, the woodland cubes will make for excellent additions to small world play as Florence gets older so they’re great for older children too.IMG_4392

I also think that these would double as a cute accessory for a neutrally decorated nursery and would look perfect stacked on a shelf when not being played with.

My only criticism of these gorgeous cubes is that they lack any specific sensory element. I would have liked there to have been perhaps a  rattle when shaken or a squeak or a scrunch when squeezed. They’re priced at £16.00 which I think is possibly slightly higher than I would usually pay for a set of 4 soft cubes, however as they will likely be used for many years to come in different settings and ways I think that price can be justified.IMG_5161

They’ll make a lovely little gift for any new arrivals on their way, or even as a baby’s first Christmas present!

You can purchase them directly through Jo Jo Maman Bebe.
