Florence’s Rainbow Themed Birthday Party

Florence’s Rainbow Themed Birthday Party

I can hardly believe it’s over! I’ve spent the last month or so planning Florence’s first Birthday Party and on Saturday all of my plans came to life. 60 of our friends and family came to celebrate our little girl turning one and we honestly had such a wodnerful day. The weather was beautiful and Florence was in her absolute element being surrounded by people who were there to see her and partied hard until she finally crashed at 11pm! I thought I would share with you what we got up to at Florence’s Rainbow Themed Birthday Party.

The Decor

The cake table was decorated with a rainbow balloon arch. We hung 100ft of giant multi coloured bunting around the garden and gazebos which filled the sky with rainbow flags and hung lanterns from the tree above the music wall. The children ate at a specially made table which was decorated with a rainbow coloured balloon table runner and corresponding plates & cups.

The Games & Activities

All of the children were asked to choose a party box when they arrived and instructed to go and find the unicorns who were guarding the special treasure! There were books, gold coins, play doh pots, rainbow drops and rainbow coloured ducks.

We filled up the paddling pool & tuff spot with water and rainbow coloured toys so that the littles could splash about and cool down.

There was an arts and crafts table where the children decorated clouds with glitter & sparkle.

I created a Rainbow Sensory Play area with books and rainbow scarves and shakers and a wooden stacker. There was also a ball pool filled which was certainly a hit with the littles!

And fun was had by all on the climbing frame Sean & his brother have built! The children spent hours going up and down the bumpy slide, playing in the play house, the little cafe, making music on the music wall and digging for gold in the sand pit.

The Dress(es)

We had so so many compliments on our outfits! Florence wore a beautiful handmade rainbow scalloped dress from Wild Things Dresses and I wore a dress I bought from Shein.

The Food

We served a rainbow themed feast for the children and later on a bbq for the adults. I’ve shared a whole blog post on all of the food we had on offer here

We had the most amazing day and we feel so blessed that so many people came to wish our Florrie bum a happy birthday.

  • Love the rainbow fruit kebabs – I think I’ll give that a go at my twins’ upcoming birthday. I can’t believe how quickly the time flies by. I’ve also promised them balloons for the first time – like a proper helium one. But they’ll only turn 4 once.

  • Looks amazing Ami! We are having a rainbow themed party for Emilia too, though mainly related to the food since neither party (she’s having one up north, one down south) is going to be at our house to easily decorate. And its mainly because I want to make one of those rainbow cakes! :-) Love the balloon arch though – do you sell those? If so I would love one xx

    • Hi lovely, thank you so much. The balloon arch was so beautiful. Yes, I do have the arch kits, pop me a message and We can chat ☺️

  • Wow what a wonderful stimulating party. As I read this post I thought what a creative mother you are. Than I got to the point where you said you was a party planner ! Fantastic party I can only imagine all the children had the best time.

  • Oh my goodness! This is so extravagant and impressive! I’m in awe, your photos are incredible. It must have been tiring setting all of this up and catering for 60 odd people but it looks like you pulled off the perfect party.

  • I love the rainbow theme! When many others are going with Disney or some other popular cartoon the rainbow feels very original! It looks like everyone had a great time! Happy 1st birthday to your little one:)

  • Oh wow, what a party you put on for Florence! I love a rainbow theme. It’s colourful, fresh and cheerful. Everything you did was stunning. I particularly love the balloon arch! That climbing frame is impressive!

  • What a wonderful party! I love the theme, so vibrant and perfect for summer. The crafting station is such an inspired idea and definitely one I will have to remember for a party we are throwing this summer. Thank you.
