I’ve already shared the contents of Florence’s First Christmas Stocking so I thought I would share some of the other things we’ve… ahem… Santa… has bought her for Christmas this year. We’ve quite a big family and it’s likely Florence is going to be showered with gifts over the festive period so we’ve kept the amount of toys we’ve bought her to a minimum and instead kitted out her wardrobe with some gorgeous clothes from H&M, mothercare & Next. However here are the toys and books we have bought and wrapped up for Christmas morning.
The TOMY Hide & Squeak Eggs* were recommended to me so many times when I was sussing out what to buy for Florence. They’re designed for 12m+ but Florence will be just under 7 months at Christmas so she is a little younger than recommended however she will love bashing them with her hands and making them squeak as well as taking the eggs in and out the box!
Now that weaning is in full swing and Florence is enjoying three meals a day she spends quite a lot of time in her highchair. It’s also where we put her when we are eating ourselves so I’ve been on the look out for a Highchair toy that will keep her entertained. This Sassy Fascination Station* stood out to me and is jam packed with features to keep little fingers busy!
If you’ve been following our baby play posts, you’ll know I adore Hape Toys. To go with the Red Bus & Blue Aeroplane I’ve bought this wooden helicopter. Their toys are such good quality and I’m so glad to be building our little Hape collection.
As a house of book lovers it is inevitable there would be some books in here! And what better books to buy than those written by the Queen of children’s literature herself, Julia Donaldson. We already have some of her books and we love them so I have chosen two of the books from her Tales of Acorn Woods collection. They are lift and flap books and are included in the Waterstone’s buy one get one half price offer.
While again, it’s marketed at a higher age bracket, I’ve bought this Plan Toys wooden stacker. While she might not use it as intended on the box o start with, it’s a fab quality toy that will last!
Florence loves anything that makes a noise and while a little birdy tells me there’s a B musical instrument set on its way from her Nanny, I couldn’t resist this little wooden tamborine from Wilko. It was a complete bargain and makes a lovely jingly sound.
I’ve taken them all out of the packaging to avoid all that hassle on Christmas morning and made sure that they’re easy to open for her leaving easy bits of paper to pull and crinkle. Something tells me she’ll have more fun tearing the paper to shreds at the time!
What have you bought your little one for Christmas?
