You might recall that last week I reviewed my recent purchase of the Miss Sporty INSTAGlow Foundation after my hunt for a brightening foundation that was something a little different from my usual RIMMEL base. In the same haul I also picked up the Bourjois […]
A couple of weeks ago, during a twitter chat, we were discussing our favourite drug store brands and I mentioned that I was looking to add to my make up collection to add a bit of variety. We were talking about foundations, and how I […]
As you probably already know, I am a HUGE fan of the Body Shop products. I love their body butters and scrubs, their shower gels and hand creams. I use their vitamin E skin care range on a daily basis and their make up brushes stand out as some of the best in my collection. So when I discovered I had been given a surprise free gift in my shopping bag from my recent shopping trip I was thrilled.
The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask is a self warming, deep cleansing kaolin clay treatment. Unlike others, the cleansing treatment takes just five minutes, the perfect time frame to apply as soon as you get into the shower and let it work its magic while you wash and condition your hair.
The mask is of a creamy consistency and is so easy to apply. I applied it to my entire face focusing mainly on my t-zone. As soon as the mask touches your face you can immediately feel the warming technology take action. It’s so soothing and feels so luxurious! I felt as though I was in a salon receiving a facial. The initial warmth lasts about 30 seconds and then cools down somewhat as the time passes.
Once the five minutes is up, it’s so easy to wash off. There’s no need for a flannel or any other product, just standing under the water rinses it away nicely.
After use, my face feels so refreshed and it might seem a funny thing to say, but I really feel as though it’s cleaned right down into my pores.
Overall I am very impressed with this, and once I’ve finished this bottle, I will definitely be buying another. It’s like a facial in a bottle!
I also think that the Bodyshop Warming Mineral Mask would make a fab gift for a friend or for your Mum this Mothers Day. For just £11 this is an absolute bargain.
*This post was initially published in October 2014, but since I have continued to use this product and wanted to share a bit more about it. All thoughts are my own.
Those of you who have been reading my page for a while will know that I am a sucker for drugstore beauty brands and over the last year, Makeup Revolution has quickly become my go to counter when it comes to refreshing my makeup stash. I […]
Those of you who follow me on instagram will know that Makeup Revolution feature constantly in my makeup routine. I’ve been testing out their Ultra Pro Brush Collection this month and as I suspected, I am so impressed. For just £12, there are 6 brushes […]
In my December Bucket List I mentioned I planned to mainly give Homemade Christmas gifts this year. There’s something so much more special about giving a gift you’ve made yourself and put a lot of time and thought in to.
The first set of gifts I made were these gingerbread man Sugar Scrubs. I found them on Pinterest and they were originally posted over on A Pumpkin and a Princess. I’ve adapted the recipe a little bit so they are perfect for each individual recipient, but here’s how I made them.
What you will need:
Melt the Soap Base over a Bain Marie, stirring occasionally. Once part melted, add the Sweet Almond Oil to the bowl and leave to melt until the mixture is liquid.
While they are melting together, take a jug and add mix in your brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger.
Remove your Soap / Oil combo from the heat and allow to cool for one minute.
Add the micture to the sugar & spices and stir. While still runny pour evenly between your six molds and leave to cool for a further twenty minutes. Once cool pop them in your freezer for about an hour before removing and wrapping them in cellophane ready to give as gifts.
Handy Tip: DO NOT be concerned that the mixture is not thick enough and over stir in step four. Give it a quick mix in and then pour straight away otherwise you will end up with really stodgy ‘dough’ which you can’t pour into the mold. Take it from someone who learned the hard way ;)
Are you making gifts this Christmas? I am still on the hunt for inspiration so pop your links / ideas below. Check out my other Christmas Crafts over on pinterest.

I recently went on a mission to find a more heavy foundation for Autumn. All through the summer I have been wearing the Rimmel Wake me up Foundation and I honestly love it. It’s light, easy to apply and doesn’t leave you feeling your face has […]
I recently went a bit mad when it came to ordering lip products form the latest Avon catalogue, but I have always been a big fan of their lip products and they were quite heavily reduced so I made the most of the discounts. I […]
