From the moment you find out you are pregnant you are given all sorts of guidelines to follow on how to keep your body healthy and prepare for your baby’s safe arrival. One of the things people said to me from the get go was […]
With Valentines day just a matter of days away, I’ve put together this last minute gift guide for those of you who are still looking for a little bit of inspiration when it comes to finding the perfect present for the lady in your life. […]
I’m a bit of a creature of habit and so when I find a product I like I tend to stick with it. I have been using Rimmel London Wake Me Up foundation for over two years now and while I still love it, I find it a bit heavy on my skin these days. Pregnancy has definitely made a few changes to my skin tone and texture and so it only makes sense that I should have to change the products I use on it too.
I know the ladies on our local Boots No7 counter quite well, and while I am a big fan of their lipsticks and mascara, I’ve never tried their foundation. I popped in last week to take advantage of their Match Made Service where they help you find the perfect shade and coverage for your skin type.
Tracey was lovely! She invited me to take a seat at the counter and used their match maker machine to assess which product and shade would be perfect for me. She then, discussing her findings as she went, proceeded to try three different shades of their Stay Perfect Foundation, resulting in my Match Made Shade being Calico – a lot lighter than I would have opted for by myself as until recently I have always been quite olive skinned but it really does match my tone perfectly.
The Stay Perfect Foundation offers a medium coverage and is incredibly light to wear. The bottle promises up to 24 hours of wear and while I’ve nt tested the full 24 hours, I can vouch for the fact that it doesn’t seem to budge throughout the day! I’d happily not reapply from day to night if we were heading out in the evening and just top up with an extra layer of mascara & blusher to finish off the look.
From experience this foundation is best applied with a brush rather than fingers and while it probably breaks all of the beauty blogging rules, I’ve found the Real Techniques buffing brush the best for application.
It retails at £14.50 for a bottle and is available in twenty different shades – I would 100% recommend heading in and taking advantage of their Match Made service to ensure you select the right one!
I am a bit of a face mask addict. You might have seen I went a bit crazy with my recent haul from Freeman Beauty who I recently discovered in my July Pink Parcel. I loved their Peppermint and Lavendar foot cream so much that I […]
I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I’d seen photographs, read people’s stories, looked in awe at the transformations, but absolutely nothing in this world could have prepared me for the sense of calm you feel when you arrive. Walking through the door of the Red Shoe Studio […]
Everyone has different things about themselves that they want to improve cosmetically. Me? My list consists of dropping a dress size, having more voluminous hair and sorting out my teeth. Me and my Dentist have never really been friends, even the thought of walking into the surgery gets me all nervey and so I never went through the “teenage hell” that is braces when I probably should have done. My reluctance to attend for 6 monthly checkups meant that certain dental health issues were missed and over time my teeth lost their white sparkle. So when White Glo contacted me to see if I wanted to try out their new whitening toothpaste, I jumped at the chance.
One of the few benefits of being off work poorly, is that I was home when the postman arrived (apart from during my hospital stay obvs), and so when Pat knocked the door to deliver the sample I was excited to be able to use it straight away.
Included in the box was a tube of White Glo toothpaste, a White Glo X Action toothbrush and a pack of 6 floss toothpicks. This pack retails at £3.15 and with everything included, I think thats really great value for money.
The toothpaste itself is white in colour and when you start brushing it into your teeth it lathers up and takes a more foamy consistency than I’ve had from a toothpaste before. The toothbrush is quite soft so if you’re like me and you like to give your teeth a good scrub, it does take a little longer before I am satisfied that my teeth are totally clean.
After three weeks of using the kit twice a day I can see a visible improvement in the colour of my teeth.
You can purchase the kit at boots.
I first discovered Pink Parcel back in April last year and was so impressed with the concept, I signed myself & my sister up for the subscription. At the time they were working on a campaign to encourage women to be more open about their […]
You know that moment when you realise you’ve been so busy running around for everyone else, be it at home, at work, for friends, family or colleagues that you’ve forgotten when the last time was that you shaved your legs, watched THAT episode of your […]
